When the Covid-19 pandemic first hit, the most dangerous outbreak was that of misinformation. While it was clear that social distancing slowed the spread of the virus, the way this data was presented was often hard to understand. So we built a map where players could simulate a zombie outbreak in a medieval village, before applying social distancing measures from a control tower. The result was a safe, familiar space for kids to learn about how social distancing measures can mitigate a pandemic. Providing access to crucial messaging during the pandemic to kids who wouldn't normally consume news channels and other mediums.
